Introduction
Use the Activations Management APIs to integrate Activations into your workflows.
As of October 15, 2026, Activations API V2 is available. API V1 is deprecated and will be retired on January 15, 2027.
Activations API V2
API V2 supports the unified Fivetran Activations experience. While very similar to API V1, it also replaces workspaces with activations and supports Fivetran group IDs for access control management. For more information, see the Activations REST API V2 documentation.
To migrate from V1 to V2, do the following:
- Replace workspace API keys with Activations personal access tokens (PATs). Activations PATs are separate from Fivetran PATs.
- If you manage user permissions programmatically, use Fivetran’s user and access management APIs. These APIs require a separate Fivetran API key.
Activations API V1 Deprecated
We will retire Activations API V1 on January 15, 2027. If you use V1, you must migrate to V2 before then.
API V1 includes two APIs with different scopes and authentication methods:
- Workspace APIs: Manage resources within a workspace, such as syncs, connections, and models. These APIs use a workspace access token.
- Organization APIs: Manage organization resources, such as workspaces, users, and invitations. These APIs use a personal access token.
Base URLs
To call Activations' API, use the base URL associated with your Activations organization's region (read more about Activations regions here).
For US-based Activations organizations:
- Base URL: https://app.getcensus.com
- Example: https://app.getcensus.com/api/v1/syncs
For EU-based Activations organizations:
- Base URL: https://app-eu.getcensus.com
- Example: https://app-eu.getcensus.com/api/v1/syncs
Postman Collection
We have a Postman Collection that encompasses all API endpoints that Activations offers. Whether you are looking to quickly test out our API or trying to build custom authentication flows into your application, the Activations (formerly Census) Postman Collection will help expedite those projects.
For more information, see the Activations API Postman Collection.
