How Can I Remove Outdated Tables From the Schema for Magic Folder Connections?
Question
For connections that use the Magic Folder sync mode, the Reload option in the Schema tab is disabled. How can I remove old files, invalid tables, or destination tables that no longer exist from the connection schema?
Environment
- File connectors
- Sync mode: Magic Folder
Answer
For connections that use Magic Folder sync mode, Fivetran does not automatically remove tables when the corresponding source files or sheets are deleted or renamed. Fivetran keeps previously synced files in the schema to support troubleshooting and auditing. As a result of this behavior, the Reload option is intentionally disabled in the Schema tab.
To remove outdated tables from the connection schema, trigger a historical connection-level re-sync. This resets the connection's internal state and rebuilds the schema based on the files that currently exist at the source. For instructions, see How to Trigger Historical Re-Syncs for Fivetran Connections.
