Error: No Enum Constant

Issue

The connection fails with the following error:

No enum constant com.fivetran.integrations.snowflake.SnowflakeType.FILE

Environment

Connector: Snowflake

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

1. In Snowflake, review your schema and column definitions to identify any columns that use the FILE data type.
2. Choose one of the following options:

   • In Fivetran, exclude the relevant column from your connection schema.

     i. Go to your connection page.

     ii. Select the Schema tab.

     iii. Deselect the checkbox next to the column you want to exclude.

     iv. Click Save changes.

   • Modify the FILE column in Snowflake by casting it to a supported type, such as VARCHAR, or update your view or query to exclude the FILE column.

3. In Fivetran, go to your connection page and click Sync in the top right.
4. Verify that the sync completes successfully.

Cause

This issue occurs when we attempt to sync a column of the data type FILE, which we don't support.
