Error: F_JT0905 Log Start Positioning Error F_JZ1101

Issue

The following error appears:

F_JT0905: Log start positioning error F_JZ1101. Capture job unable to locate file sequence for resetlogs_id in thread X.

Environment

Connector: Oracle HVA

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do one of the following:

1. Restore the missing archived log files from your backup system and copy them to the location the capture job expects.
2. If you can't restore the logs, trigger a connection-level historical sync. For instructions, see Trigger Historical Re-Syncs for Fivetran Connections.
3. To prevent recurrence, configure RMAN or your equivalent backup system to retain archived log files long enough for ongoing capture jobs. We recommend at least 7 days.

Cause

This issue occurs when the capture job can't locate required archived log files. This happens when the Oracle RMAN backup system purges the archived logs before the capture job can read them.
