Why Did the IP Addresses Fivetran Uses to Connect Change?
Question
Why did the IP addresses Fivetran uses to connect change, along with the cloud service provider, such as from AWS to GCP?
Environment
All connectors
Answer
Fivetran uses fixed IP ranges based on your destination's configured cloud service provider and region. If either changes, the IP addresses we use to connect also change.
A change in your Fivetran pricing plan or destination configuration can cause this. GCP is the default cloud service provider for Free and Standard plans, while Enterprise and Business Critical plans support other providers. If you previously used AWS or Azure and moved to a plan that defaults to GCP, the provider and IP address changes are expected.
To confirm with IP addresses to safelist:
- In Fivetran, go to your destination connection page.
- In the top right, click the more options menu, then select Edit connection.
- Under IPs / Host Names, make a note of the IPs.
- Add each IP address to your source system's IP safelist.
