Can a User Perform Re-Syncs, Run Setup Tests, or Reload Schemas Without the Manage Connection Role?

Can I allow a user to re-sync a connection, run setup tests, complete setup, or reload the schema without also allowing them to change connection settings?

I want them to perform these actions without changing the connection's schedule, schema, or credentials.

Answer

No, you can't allow a user to perform connection actions, such as re-syncs, without also allowing them to change connection settings.

The following actions require the Manage Connection role:

• Triggering a re-sync
• Running setup tests
• Completing connection setup
• Calling POST /v1/connections/{id}/schemas/reload

Users with the Account Reviewer or View Connection role can't perform these actions. However, the Manage Connection role also allows users to change connection settings, including the schedule, schema, and credentials. Fivetran doesn't provide separate permissions for these actions.
