Why Are Entries Missing From the Destination LOG Table?
Question
I synced records with my connection and expected to see entries for those sync attempts in the LOG table in my destination. Why are entries sometimes missing for some dates, even though the connection ran and generated logs?
Environment
Fivetran Platform Connector
Answer
The Fivetran Platform Connector syncs log data for connected sources and destinations. However, log data may be missing from the destination LOG table if your Fivetran Platform connection didn't sync within our retention window.
The Fivetran Platform Connector can only sync user-facing logs generated within the past 7 days. If your Fivetran Platform connection sync doesn't occur for more than 7 days, for example because the connector was paused, older log events are no longer available to sync. In addition, the Fivetran Platform Connector only runs when at least one connection using its linked destination is active. If all relevant connections are paused, your Fivetran Platform connection also pauses and stops syncing new log events.
If connections were running but log data is missing for certain intervals, one of the following likely occurred:
- The connections were re-enabled, but your Fivetran Platform connection didn't sync immediately. It waited until the next scheduled sync interval.
- Your Fivetran Platform connection sync didn't occur while the source generated logs, and more than 7 days passed before the next sync. As a result, those logs became permanently unavailable in the destination
LOGtable.
To troubleshoot missing logs for a specific date, check whether your Fivetran Platform connection was:
- Active and syncing during that period.
- Paused or delayed for more than 7 days.
