Grafana Loki Setup Guide
Follow our step-by-step setup guide to integrate Fivetran logs into your Grafana account.
Prerequisites
To connect Grafana to Fivetran, you need a Grafana account.
Setup instructions
Find Grafana account details
You have two ways to find your Grafana account details:
Option A: Expand for instructions
- Sign in to the Grafana Cloud Portal.
- Under Manage your Grafana Cloud stack, select Details.
- In the list of services, under Loki, click Details. Make a note of the following information:
- Your username in the Name field, between the
grafanacloud-and-logsstrings (i.e.,grafanacloud-your_username-logs) - Your URL, usually in the
https://logs-prod-xxx.grafana.netformat - Your user/tenant ID in the User field
- Your username in the Name field, between the
Option B: Expand for instructions
- In your Grafana instance, go to Connections > Data source in the left menu.
- Find your Loki datasource. By default, the name will be in the
grafanacloud-your_username-logsformat. - Open the datasource settings. Make a note of the following information:
- Your username in the Name field, between the
grafanacloud-and-logsstrings (i.e.,grafanacloud-your_username-logs) - Your URL, usually in the
https://logs-prod-xxx.grafana.netformat - Your user/tenant ID in the User field
- Your username in the Name field, between the
Generate access token
- In Grafana, go to Administration > Users and access > Cloud access policies.
- Click Create access policy.
- Enter a descriptive name for the policy.
- Enable write permissions for the logs scope.
- Click Create.
- In the list of access policies, find the one you just created and click Add token.
- Name your token and click Create. Make a note of the generated token. You will need it to configure Fivetran.
Finish Fivetran configuration
- Go to the external log setup form.
- Enter your Grafana username, URL, and tenant ID obtained in the Find Grafana account details step.
- Enter the access token created in the Generate access token step.
- Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your logs to Grafana Loki.
Setup test
Fivetran performs the Connect to Grafana Loki setup test to check service accessibility and the credentials you provided in the setup form.
