Are Syncs Affected If the Authorized Account of a Connector Is Updated?
Question
If the authorized account or user of a connector is updated, how does it affect syncs and the data loaded into the destination?
Environment
Application connectors
Answer
When the authorized user or account is updated, the resulting sync behavior depends on how tables are handled by the connector.
Connectors with system-controlled tables (for example, JIRA)
The connector will continue to sync new tables.
Connectors with user-controlled tables (for example, Salesforce)
The connector will sync new tables only if the schema change handling settings are set to Allow all.
If selected, consecutive syncs will run from the same place at which the connector finished loading data in the previous sync. All new tables will sync and populate in the destination, provided the new authorized user has access to those tables.
If the new authorized user does not have permission to access tables that were syncing previously, the connector will skip and no longer sync the data for those tables.
MAR
New tables undergoing an initial sync will be free.
