Error: Dataset Is Missing or We Are Not Authorized To View It

Issue

Syncs fail with the following error:

Dataset <dataset_name> is missing or we are not authorized to view it.

Environment

Connector: BigQuery

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

1. In Fivetran, go to your BigQuery connector page.
2. Go to the Setup tab.
3. Click Edit connection details.
4. Ensure the information in the Project ID and Dataset Name fields is correct.
   • If the Dataset Name is incorrect, update the field, then click Save & Test.
   • If the Project ID is incorrect, you must create a new connector because it's not possible to edit the field.

Cause

This issue occurs when you provide an incorrect Project ID or Dataset Name while setting up your connector. For information on finding your project and dataset information in BigQuery, see Google's listing datasets documentation.
