How can I avoid hitting API rate limits while syncing data with Fivetran?

To avoid hitting connector API rate limits, we recommend the following best practices:

1. Exclude unnecessary tables from your connector schema.

   i. In Fivetran, go to your connector page.

   ii. Select the Schema tab.

   iii. Uncheck the tables you don't want to sync.

   iv. Click Save changes.

2. Reduce your connector's sync frequency. For more information, see our Sync frequency and scheduling documentation.

   i. In Fivetran, go to your connector page.

   ii. Select the Setup tab.

   iii. Update the value in the Sync frequency drop-down menu.

3. If your connector supports multiple personal access tokens, add more tokens from users in your organization. To determine whether your connector supports multiple personal access tokens, see the applicable connector's setup guide.

4. Increase the API quota in your source.

5. Reduce the number of connections that share credentials and point to the same source.
