Do New Tables Contribute to MAR?
Question
When I add a new table to my Fivetran connection schema, does it contribute to my monthly active rows (MAR)?
Environment
All connectors
Answer
When does Fivetran consider a table new?
We consider a table new when it's included in your connection schema for the first time. For example, when:
- You create a new table in the source.
- You gain access to a previously inaccessible table.
- You exclude a table from your connection's initial sync, and later update your schema in Fivetran to include it for the first time.
Adding tables during the free use period
When you add a new table during a new connection's 14-day free use period, its initial sync and incremental updates are free until the trial ends. Adding a new table does not extend the free use period.
Adding tables after the free use period
After the free use period, the initial sync of a new table count towards your free MAR. After that, rows synced incrementally count towards paid MAR.
When we re-import a table, only new and changed rows contribute to MAR. To learn more, see How Do Re-imported Tables Count towards MAR?
How to check whether a table has been synced before
- In Fivetran, go to the relevant connection overview page.
- Select the Usage tab, then click Month view.
- In the Usage breakdown by table section, find the applicable table and review its usage data.
- Use the drop-down menu to switch months.
If a table shows no free or paid MAR usage, it hasn't been synced.
