Why Did My Pricing Estimate Increase After I Applied Row Filters?
Question
I applied row filtering to reduce the data volume extracted from the source. However, after the table-level re-sync completed, the monthly cost shown on the Pricing Estimator page increased.
Does the re-sync affect my billing, and when will the estimator show an updated estimate?
Environment
The Fivetran Pricing Estimator page
Answer
Applying row filtering triggers a re-sync so Fivetran can update the destination using the new filter settings. During that re-sync, unchanged historical rows do not contribute to paid Monthly Active Rows (MAR). Only new or updated rows count.
After the re-sync, the Pricing Estimator page may temporarily show a higher estimate than expected because it needs time to record typical incremental usage after the row filter is applied. For the updated estimate, check the page again after your connection has run with the new row filter for at least seven days. After that period, the estimate is recalculated based on incremental changes from the filtered dataset.
This temporary increase in the estimator does not necessarily reflect an increase in monthly billing.
