How Can I Configure My Agent to Automatically Start After the Host Machine Is Rebooted?
Question
How can I configure my agent to automatically start after the host machine is rebooted?
Environment
Container platform: Docker and Podman
Answer
The configuration required to automatically start the Hybrid Deployment Agent after a host reboot depends on the container platform you use.
Docker
Stop the agent.
./hdagent.sh -r docker stopGo to the agent installation directory (
$HOME/fivetran) and open thehdagent.shfile.Replace
--restart "on-failure:3"with--restart "always".Start the agent.
./hdagent.sh -r docker start
Podman
For Podman, configuring the container restart policy alone does not ensure that the agent starts after the host machine reboots. You must also configure systemd to restart the container.
Stop the agent.
./hdagent.sh -r podman stopGo to the agent installation directory (
$HOME/fivetran) and open thehdagent.shfile.Replace
--restart "on-failure:3"with--restart "always".Configure systemd to start the Podman container after a host reboot. You can use Podman's
podman-restart.serviceor configure the container to run as a system service using a systemd unit. For more information, see Podman documentation.Start the agent.
./hdagent.sh -r podman start
