Why do some connectors configured for Hybrid Deployment experience sync gaps?

Answer

You may experience sync gaps when the agent temporarily stops accepting scheduled jobs during an agent upgrade.

We check for a new agent version every four hours. During an upgrade, we do the following:

1. Stop accepting new jobs. Jobs that are already running continue uninterrupted because they run in separate containers or pods.
2. Start the new agent version.
3. Stop the old agent version.
4. Resume accepting new jobs once the new agent is running.

The switchover typically takes a few seconds. Scheduled syncs not accepted during the switchover will be rescheduled and started once the new agent is running.
