Fivetran customer video: Lob
Summary
Lob had three main sources of data that it needed to centralize into Redshift: application data in a relational database, static CSV files in S3 and streaming data. John Huang, Head of Data at Lob, estimates that it would probably have taken 2-3 engineers to build out a dedicated integration for each of these sources internally before being able to do any reporting. As a small company, Lob can leverage its data team for more strategic projects and increase agility by leaving the pipeline engineering to Fivetran.
Lob has multiple Looker reports and dashboards that combine sources. The operational team can look at in-app usage data in combination with the CSV reporting provided by its printing partner to monitor overall service. The customer team has a customer health score and dashboard that monitors in-app behavior as well as Zendesk tickets, Salesforce items, and more to have a holistic view of the overall health of a customer.
