Fivetran Service Consumption Table
V.8 Effective March 1, 2025
This Fivetran Service Consumption Table (this “Table”) is effective as of March 1, 2025 (the "Effective Date") and applies to all customers on Fivetran’s consumption-based pricing model and Fivetran’s Free Plan, other than customers using On-Prem Software (Fivetran HVR) on a consumption-based pricing model and, in such case, this Table will apply to such HVR customers effective as of April 1, 2025.
Fivetran provides the Fivetran Products to its customers (each a “Customer”, “you”, “your”), which include a data movement platform that, via data pipelines, extracts, loads, and, if selected, transforms, data from customer-specified sources to customer-specified destinations. Fivetran Products are available on several different plans and can be hosted in different geographical regions by certain third-party cloud providers, as described more fully in your Master Subscription Agreement, Data Processing Addendum, Order Form and/or similar agreements with Fivetran (“Agreement”). Any capitalized terms not defined herein will have the meanings given to them in the Agreement or, if not defined in the Agreement, in the Master Subscription Agreement located at https://www.fivetran.com/legal (or such successor URL as may be designated by Fivetran).
Definitions
Account: The Customer’s account on Fivetran. An Account may have multiple Connectors and Destinations. A customer may have multiple Accounts.
Arrears: The period of continued Fivetran Product use after the Contracted Spend on a Capacity Purchase (defined below) has been depleted. You will be alerted by Fivetran when you are in Arrears.
Billing Period: A calendar month running from the first to the last day of the month.
Capacity Purchase Plan: A subscription-based plan which requires an annual upfront purchase of Contracted Spend in bulk.
Committed Use Discount: The discount provided to Customer in exchange for its commitment to spend certain amounts on a Capacity Purchase Plan.
Connection: A single instance of a data pipeline created using a Connector.
Connector: A tool Fivetran provides to integrate a specific data source with a destination.
Contracted Spend: The total dollar amount of committed spend, as shown on the Order Form as “Consumption Total”.
Destination: A data warehouse, database, data lake, or data lake house where the data is delivered.
Free Plan: A Plan that grants Customer free access to Fivetran Product features subject to the full free plan terms and conditions at www.fivetran.com/legal/free-plan-terms.
Incremental Spend: The price charged for the next million MAR (or portion of the next million MAR) consumed after surpassing the MAR Threshold for the month in question.
Initial Sync: The first time that a Connection completes a historical sync.
MAR Threshold: The minimum MAR usage requirement to receive the consumption rates on the Service Consumption Table below.
Model: A SQL statement that produces a materialized table or data view. Transformations often consist of multiple interdependent models that work together to produce the final dataset used for business intelligence or operational purposes.
Monthly Active Rows or MAR: The number of distinct Primary Keys synced via Fivetran, calculated on a per-Account basis. Fivetran only counts a row once per Billing Period, even if it syncs multiple times.
Monthly Model Runs: The total number of Models successfully executed in a given month. Output models may rely on several upstream Models, with each upstream Model counting as a single Model run for purposes of Monthly Model Runs.
Monthly Purchase: A plan where Customer is billed monthly, in arrears, for the costs incurred during the prior Billing Period. Customers may make Monthly Purchases through (i) fivetran.com/account/billing or through the (ii) AWS, (iii) GCP, (iv) Azure, or (v) Snowflake marketplaces.
Monthly Spend: The dollar amount consumed each Billing Period from Contracted Spend based on actual usage of Connectors and any other applicable uses of Fivetran Products.
Plan: A bundle of features included as a part of the Fivetran Product. Plans may be Capacity Purchase Plans (subscription-based), Monthly Purchase plans (do not require annual subscriptions), or the Free Plan.
Primary Key: A unique identifier that specifies a distinct row within a table.
Transformations: Fivetran Product offering that gives Customers the ability to set up, host and/or orchestrate data transformation workflows in Customer’s data warehouses.
Monthly Active Rows
MAR are similar to total monthly synced rows but are less prone to variation and outliers. MAR is calculated as the number of distinct Primary Keys transported through the Fivetran Product by an Account in a given Billing Period. Primary Keys are counted separately by Account, Destination, and Connection; therefore, if a distinct Primary Key is synced more than once in a given Billing Period then the distinct Primary Key counts as only a single MAR. For example, a distinct Primary Key synced 30 times during a Billing Period will count as one MAR. If a Primary Key is not available, we create a synthetic (hashed) Primary Key to ensure consistent tracking; provided, however, that Fivetran excludes historical MAR associated with the Initial Sync for each new Connection added. Please refer to the Fivetran Documentation for further information about how MAR is calculated and use limitations impacting MAR.
To calculate MAR, usage data is sent to Fivetran. For On-Prem Software, it may be necessary for Customer to troubleshoot network issues or access permissions to allow Fivetran to receive usage data and for Customer to access the software.
Service consumption on the Free Plan
The Free Plan grants Customers access to the Fivetran Product subject to the full Free Plan terms and conditions. MAR on the Free Plan are calculated in the same way as other Plans. A description of the Free Plan’s terms and conditions can be found at www.fivetran.com/legal/free-plan-terms.
Service consumption on paid Plans
Monthly Spend from Connectors is the sum total of Connection-level costs within each Account during a Billing Period. MAR from each Connection will be applied to its own volumetric curve to determine the cost of that Connection. In contrast, Monthly Spend from Transformations is calculated using the number of Monthly Model Runs within each Account during a Billing Period.
Monthly Purchase Plan
Capacity Purchase Plan
Consumption rates for Capacity Purchases will be determined by the Service Consumption Table below, subject to the terms of Customer’s specific Order Form. Customers making a Capacity Purchase automatically receive a Committed Use Discount based on the amount of committed use reflected in the Order Form. Any discount applicable to a Capacity Purchase will be reflected on the relevant Order Form.

* or portions of a million MAR. Fivetran will prorate incremental portions of a million MAR.
** Dollar values in this table have been rounded to two decimal places.
To calculate Monthly Spend for each Connection we use the following formula:
Base Spend per Month + (actual MAR - Monthly Active Row Threshold) * Incremental Spend per Million MAR
Transformations
Customers purchasing an eligible Plan will have access to Fivetran Transformations. Transformations contribute to Monthly Spend and will consume Contracted Spend in a similar way as MAR. Transformations will be charged by Monthly Model Runs across an Account according to the table below, subject to any discount applicable to Customer’s purchase:
Monthly Model Runs | List rate per Monthly Model Run |
0 - 5,000 | Free |
5,001 - 30,000 | $0.01 |
30,001 - 100,000 | $0.007 |
More than 100,000 | $0.002 |
To calculate Monthly Spend from Transformations we do the following:
If Monthly Model Runs ≤ 5000 | Monthly Spend = | 0 |
If 5,000 ﹤Monthly Model Runs ≤ 30,000 | (Monthly Model Runs - 5,000) x 0.01
If 30,000 ﹤Monthly Model Runs ≤ 100,000 | (25,000 x. 0.01) + (Monthly Model Runs - 30,000) x. 0.007
If Monthly Model Runs ﹥100,000 | (25,000 x 0.01) + (70,000 x 0.007) + (Monthly Model Runs - 100,000) x 0.002 |
To illustrate this calculation in a month with 120,000 Monthly Model Runs:
First, calculate the cost for the first 25,000 runs (from 5,001 to 30,000) by multiplying 25,000 by $0.01. Then, calculate the cost for the next 70,000 runs (from 30,001 to 100,000) by multiplying 70,000 by $0.007. Finally, subtract 100,000 from the total Monthly Model Runs and multiply the result by $0.002.
120,000 Monthly Model Runs: (25,000 x $0.01) + (70,000 x $0.007) + ((120,000 - 100,000) x $0.002) = $780
Depletion of Contracted Spend
When Contracted Spend on a Capacity Purchase is depleted but Fivetran Products are still in use, Customer is in Arrears. Provided Customer is in compliance with the Agreement, including any payment obligations, Customer may continue using Fivetran Products. For the first two Billing Periods that Customer is in Arrears, Customer will be charged at the rates specified in the Order Form. If Customer use continues beyond this grace period, any additional discount that may have been granted will no longer be applied. If Customer use continues after the end of the subscription term on the Order Form, Customer will be charged the list rates above until additional Contracted Spend is purchased through a new Order Form.
When Contracted Spend is depleted, Fivetran will notify Customer it is entering Arrears. Customer will have the option to purchase additional usage through Fivetran.
Contracted Spend Rollover
If Customer does not use its full Contracted Spend during the term of an Order Form, Customer may carry over 100% of the unused balance into a new qualifying Capacity Purchase. A qualifying Capacity Purchase requires two things: (i) the new Order Form’s annualized Contracted Spend (excluding any amounts rolled over from prior period(s)) must be at least equal to the total annualized Contracted Spend of the expiring Order Form(s); and (ii) the new Order Form must be signed in the same month the prior Order Form(s) expire.
If you have a Capacity Purchase that is coming to an end, contact your account representative to arrange for a new purchase on an updated Order Form.
Multiple Accounts
Customers may create multiple Accounts. The Fivetran Service Consumption Table will apply to the MAR and Monthly Model Runs within each Account. If Customer has multiple Accounts on a single Capacity Purchase Plan, Contracted Spend may be applied toward any of the Accounts. The benefits for increased volume will only be applied on a Connection-by-Connection basis; you cannot combine MAR across multiple Connections or Accounts to get a more favorable consumption rate. Fivetran will provide Customer with monthly usage for Billing Periods via the Fivetran dashboard.
Changes to the Fivetran Service Consumption Table
Fivetran may update this Table from time to time. If we do make updates, we will update the “effective date” at the top of this table.
Unless the Agreement between the parties supersedes this Table, any updates will become effective for Customer upon renewal or entry into a new Order Form after the updated version of this Table goes into effect. For clarity, any updates that are required by applicable law or related to a new feature or product release will be effective upon notice to you and, following such notice, your continued use of the Fivetran Product on or after the Effective Date thereof, constitutes your acceptance of the updated version.
If we make a material update, we will use reasonable efforts to alert you through the Fivetran Product dashboard or via email prior to the update taking effect.
